Ugh! I think I"m going to be sick over this one!!!

Is your hamburger lackluster?

I love when unreal products and real life collide.

Today they're colliding for a product entitled, Squeez Bacon.

The best part?

It exists!

Worth noting?

According to the reseller,

"Due to the patented electro-mechanical process by which Squeez Bacon® is rendered, it requires no preservatives or other additives."
Mmmm - 100% natural Squeez Bacon!
What will they think of next?

And, just in case you were wondering where you could buy this yummy product.........................................................................................

Well, you can't - it was an aprils fool joke on a geek site.

What crap - wake up folks!

I just had to cut and paste this entire blog posting - which is not really a legit blog but an advert for Acai berries again.  Now if this doesn't clinch the 'this is horseshit' factor for a bogus weight loss product, then what does!

I Lost 25lbs With an Awesome Combination

I’m Julie Smith and I’ve lost almost 2 stone (nearly 25 pounds) recently! When I say recently, I mean in about a month! I never knew it would be so easy to lose weight. Ok, don’t hate me if you’re someone who has struggled with weight loss for years. I’m lucky because I found the right solution to my problem and it’s a solution that can help you too!

I’m a Mom that works full time and between my busy career, my active family, and my hobbies, it’s hard to find time to go to the gym and hard to find time to eat right on a daily basis. You’d think that with how busy I am I’d never have gotten overweight but while I’ve always done my best to feed my family healthy food , more often than not, I’m the one who suffers by skipping meals and grabbing drive-thru food on the way to one of my many responsibilities. This has taken a toll on my body and not long ago I decided to get rid of the weight.

I wanted to share my story with you because I’m sure you can relate. I know it’s something a lot of women deal with and I’m hopeful that my experience and success can inspire you to do something for yourself for a change.

We Moms do for everyone else, don’t we? It all started for me after I became a Mom. I’ve got three kids and with each new baby I’ve accumulated 7-10 pounds that just wouldn’t go away. I’ve got 4 sizes of clothing (including all my maternity clothes) in my closet and a lot of those clothes have elasticized waists and are baggy to hide my numerous curves and rolls!

Not long ago, I had decided to clear out the clutter in my closet and the number of clothes in different sizes was too depressing for words! When I got my clothes organized, I decided to make a change and then I proceeded to donate to charity a lot of the clothes. Instead of throwing out all the little stuff, I decided to keep most of it and get rid of a lot of the bigger stuff. I was determined to get into my skinny jeans again! This blog was created to show you how I did it!

From Left to Right: Before, During and After

I was afraid I was in for the battle of my life but losing weight happened very easily for me. What I did was combine two different supplements that I saw on the television. In the first week I lost six pounds in a snap and after just over a month, I’ve gotten back into my skinny jeans. I can’t tell you how great it feels. My hubby is chasing me around the house again!

a DUH moment

Duh!

Today I read the most expensive, "Duh!" moment I've seen in a long time.

Last year the UK Government's think tank Foresight published a study that involved over 250 experts that concluded,

"The technological revolution of the 20th century has led to weight gain becoming inevitable for most people, because our bodies and biological make-up are out of step with our surroundings"
Gee, ya think?

You mean people aren't trying to become overweight? It's not just one gigantic social experiment gone awry whereby the entire world, every person in every single country on the planet, has colluded to flummox scientists by willfully trying to gain weight for the past 50 years?

Wanna read the bullet points that summarized the whole of their 2 year long, 250 expert advised, so damn big it crashed my browser trying to download it, work?

  • Most adults in the UK are already overweight. Modern living ensures every generation is heavier than the last – `Passive Obesity’.
  • By 2050 60% of men and 40% of women could be clinically obese. Without action, obesity-related diseases will cost an extra £45.5 billion per year.
  • The obesity epidemic cannot be prevented by individual action alone and demands a societal approach.
  • Tackling obesity requires far greater change than anything tried so far, and at multiple levels: personal, family, community and national.
  • Preventing obesity is a societal challenge, similar to climate change. It requires partnership between government, science, business and civil society.
  • Brilliant! Earth shattering! Ground breaking!

Anyone want to venture a guess how much this report must have cost?

If there are other governments out there thinking about putting together experts and spending gajillions of dollars researching this - I'll do it for half price and it'll be on your desk in the morning.

    Badvertising: Brain Bread

Yup, give your kids Wonder Bread to make them smart.

Recommendations generally are for children to have 2 servings of fish weekly for them to consume enough healthy fats (DHA) which may have benefits in brain development.

So how much bread would you have to eat to get the DHA of two weekly serving of fish?

Well at CBC Marketplace in a recent show
     figured that out for us.

    Want to wager a guess?

My guess is you'll be wrong, unless of course you guessed 428 slices of bread.

How nice of Wonder Bread to prey on parents wanting to help their children.

Shouldn't there be laws against this type of badvertising?

    Thursday, April 2

I went to the doctor for my yearly physical.
The nurse started with certain basics.
How much do you weigh?' she asked. '135,' I said.
The nurse put me on the scale. It turned out my weight was 185.

The nurse asked, 'Your height?'   '5 foot 7" I said.
The nurse checked and saw that I measured only 5' 4".

She then took my blood pressure and told me it was very high.

'Of course it's high!' I screamed, 'When I came in here I was tall and slender! Now I'm short and fat!'

    She put me on Prozac.

    What a bitch!

This was sent to me and I thought it was funny, so I'm sharing it with you instead of a normal rant against the diet industry or my weight loss stagnation this week.
