BRAND NEW AND EXCITING DIET!

Beer and Ice Cream Diet

As we all know, it takes 1 calorie to heat 1 gram of water 1 degree centigrade. Translated into meaningful terms, this means that if you eat a very cold dessert (generally consisting of water in large part), the natural processes which raise the consumed dessert to body temperature during the digestive cycle literally sucks the calories out of the only available source, your body fat.

For example, a dessert served and eaten at near 0 degrees C (32.2 deg. F) will in a short time be raised to the normal body temperature of 37 degrees C (98.6 deg. F). For each gram of dessert eaten, that process takes approximately 37 calories as stated above. The average dessert portion is 6 oz, or 168 grams. Therefore, by operation of thermodynamic law, 6,216 calories (1 cal./gm/deg. x 37 deg. x 168 gms) are extracted from body fat as the dessert's temperature is normalized. Allowing for the 1,200 latent calories in the dessert, the net calorie loss is approximately 5,000 calories.

Obviously, the more cold dessert you eat,the better off you are and the faster you will lose weight, if that is your goal. This process works equally well when drinking very cold beer in frosted glasses. Each ounce of beer contains 16 latent calories, but extracts 1,036 calories (6,216 cal. per 6 oz. portion) in the temperature normalizing process. Thus the net calorie loss per ounce of beer is 1,020 calories. It doesn't take a rocket scientist to calculate that 12,240 calories (12 oz. x 1,020 cal./oz.) are extracted from the body in the process of drinking a can of beer.

Frozen desserts, e.g., ice cream, are even more beneficial, since it takes 83 cal./gm to melt them (i.e., raise them to 0 deg. C) and an additional 37 cal./gm to further raise them to body temperature. The results here are really remarkable, and it beats running hands down.

Unfortunately, for those who eat pizza as an excuse to drink beer, pizza (loaded with latent calories and served above body temperature) induces an opposite effect. But, thankfully, as the astute reader should have already reasoned, the obvious solution is to drink a lot of beer with pizza and follow up immediately with large bowls of ice cream. We could all be thin if we were to adhere religiously to a pizza, beer, and ice cream diet.

Happy eating!

What does a Fish, a Dog and a Baby have in common?

What does a fish, a dog and a 4 month old baby have in common..they each weigh 16 lbs.

I found I needed a new visual incentive for my weight loss goals.

It's not easy to keep encouraged when the scale only moves 1/2 lb to 1 lb per week.
While we all know that is the healthy and long term way to lose weight - slowly as opposed to drastic loses of 5 lbs or more per week - it's difficult to maintain enthusaism.

Yes, I know I've lost 16 lbs already since mid Dec, but all I see most days is the miniscule loss...only that meagre bit which adds up to 1/2 - 1 lb over 7 days.

To help me visualize in a positive way what I've accomplished so far, is come up with some new things to help me see just how much I've lost.
All these photos are of things that weight 16 lbs, or what I've shed off my body in the past 3 months 3 weeks.

I hope this inspires others with their goals of weight lose...and keeps them going.

Now if I can get the other women at the curling club to stop bringing potato chips and Vodka coolers!  Self control only gets you so far!  Some things are just too great to overcome...plain potato chips set in front of me will get me everytime. If they are moved to the other side of the table I'm okay and won't eat them.
My team is in the finals championship game next Thursday, so the chips will so be banished from my life!  Wish me luck.

Cut calories to lose weight

Eat heart-healthy foods in smaller portions, reports study

Forget the grapefruit diet. Forget eating bacon and eggs but no bread. The best way to lose weight is not to eliminate foods, but simply to eat less altogether.

That is the conclusion of a new study published recently in the New England Journal of Medicine.

As long as you eat heart-healthy foods — such as less meat and more veggies, legumes and fish — in smaller portions, you don’t need to worry about percentages of fat, protein and carbs, say researchers.

“Diets … tailored to individual patients on the basis of their personal and cultural preferences may have the best chance for long-term success,” reported the authors.

The study, which was funded by the U.S. National Institutes of Health, took place at Brigham and Women’s Hospital in Boston and at Pennington Biomedical Research Center in Baton Rouge, La.

Here’s how the study was done: It enrolled 811 people between the ages of 30 and 70, and monitored them from October 2004 through December 2007. The subjects were all either overweight or obese — with a BMI between 25 and 40.

Participants were divided into four diet groups — one that received a low fat, average protein diet; one that received a low fat, high protein diet; one that received a high fat, average protein diet; and, finally, one that received a high fat, high protein diet. What the four diets had in common is that they were all low in calories (typically between 1,400 and 2,000 calories a day, depending on the size of the participant and their activity level).

All diets were also high in fibre, as well as being low in “bad” saturated fats. Participants were asked to exercise for 90 minutes a week, and all were offered regular counselling sessions.

It turned out that it didn’t matter which diet they followed, as results were similar for all four. On average, participants lost about 13 pounds over the first six months. After that, some weight came back, but after two years they had still lost an average of nine pounds and taken two inches off their waists.

The main message is that dieting should be simple, say the authors. All you have to do is choose healthy foods and minimize calories. Don’t worry about what percentage of fat, protein and carbs you are eating.

Authors called for improved disclosure of calorie counts in prepared foods.

I've always maintained it's calories in calories out and all the other diets that have come along may be touting some other system but in order for them to work they had to have reduced calories.

Now on the more important note today....WEEK ONE RESULTS - down 1.8 lb

ON A ROLL, HOW ABOUT YOU ELLA?

Monday, March 23

Oh Ella - it is almost one week!

To Ella: Oh Ella it is almost one week tomorrow!

From: Your ready to gloat sister in-law. Megara

P.S.I hear pole dancing is a great way to get into shape... and just how is that pumpkin knows the HIV stats for her town and all about the stripping industry?

P.P.S. I was stripping yesterday!  I didn't get in shape from it though...I only got a headache.  It was very strong stripper, but you should see the heat shield around the Fairchild engine today...sparkling aluminum!  Hubby would be proud if he were in the country.

Until tomorrow - Ella, relax and go have some beers tonight :>0

Stereotypes, Celebrations?

I spent time setting a goal and committing to it.

Yet, I haven't yet takes any time to think about what my life will be like when I achieve that goal.
I never had thought to the end of the goal... "How will I feel about myself? How will I celebrate?

I'm not sure I have the answer yet, but I hope it will be a with a sense of pride that I have stopped neglecting myself, and more importantly I will  have learned to stop blaming others for my eating habits.
I will feel great about being in a room with other women and not feeling as if they are better than I am just because they are slimmer (*note on this point below) and I will feel so much more energy in my daily life because by that point exercise is a habit that occurs without thought (like nail biting).

How will I celebrate?  I will wear a bathing suit again - I will wear a flight suit with a slinky camisole underneath - I will wear a top tucked into my pants - I will buy a new wardrobe - I will take Ella on a hiking/outdoor holiday to celebrate our doing this together as sister in-laws!

I know I haven't been blogging much this past week or two, but it's been a really busy time with the prom dress program going into high gear, at the same time as CD orders are starting to come in, while I am dealing with the slowest workers in the world who are cleaning, drywalling, painting and laying new carpet in our flooded basement...at least that is what they are supposed to be doing.

* note: I had said above "I will feel great about being in a room with other women and not feeling they are better than I am, simply because they are slimmer" and I wanted to clarify this statement.
There are very few people - especially other women - that I feel inferior.
In order for me to have a high regard for someone I need to have a lot of respect for something they have done or are accomplishing currently.  There are few people who fit into that category.

When I reflect on what brought about this attitude of inferiority I think it is from the media induced stereotyping of what is attractive, and a lifetime of living with my mother who is a very bright educated women who was always talking about dieting.
That last line makes me look at my cousins who are all either trying to lose weight and are 30-50 lbs heavier then what is their healthy weight, or else they are so uptight about their image that they are at the other end of the scale and morbidly skinny...and all the cousins have mothers who also have always talked about their and their daughters weight.

Okay, I've spent enough time on the computer doing the blog and not getting work done, so adios for now...and think about it...what are you going to do, and how will you feel about yourself?

Just Give Your Money to Me!

I was on a 'real' website when this sponsored link appeared...it was just too tempting to follow it and then do some checking into the product itself on some medical sites.  This counts as my rant for the day.

25 LBS IN 2 WEEKS!

THOUSANDS HAVE LOST POUNDS OF STUBBORN FAT.

You must hurry because there are only 187 units of this stuff left! (is this individual bottles or huge pallet loads..what is a unit?)

It will help you lose 1/5 of your body fat and is has helped people shed 21% of their body fat.

It targets the stomach fat and thigh fat in women!

What is this ‘must have, everyone is talking about it, miracle fat cure? Phoshacore.

Phosphacore is a new diet pill that claims to be a "Belly Fat Cure". A belly fat cure? Seriously? I am sure that if there was a cure for belly fat that it would be all over the news. Has anyone seen anything regarding the end of the obesity pandemic? Me neither. I am not too sure but last time I checked the FDA and FTC were all over companies that made claims that their supplements were cures for anything?

What is Phosphacore?

Phosphatidylserine. Boom! There it is. Phosphatidylserine is the only ingredient. What is Phosphatidylserine? Well, Phosphatidylserine is a natural substance found in brain cell membranes. (How they get them in a capsule and from whose brain they are from is beyond me.) Very limited and preliminary scientific research suggests that PS may reduce the risk of cognitive dysfunction in the elderly. The FDA concludes that there is very little scientific evidence supporting this claim.

The FDA has said nothing - nada - zip - zero - zilch in regards to Phosphatidylserine and weight loss.

How much is Phosphacore?

Phosphacore retails for just under $80 and is available for just under $40. Not too bad right? Well you can go to any diet supplement store, retail or online and buy Phosphatidylserine for $7. That's right, $7. They might even throw in free shipping as well.

Phosphacore Conclusion

With no scientific proof or evidence that Phosphacore will help you lose weight you would be an idiot to waste your money. Spend it on a gym membership instead!

Better yet, send it directly to me. I guarantee that by sending me your money you will lose weight instantly! Especially if the money you sent is all in large coins! The lose will be a bit slower if you send paper bills instead!

CHOCOLATE AND BANANA PROTEIN BARS

Ingredients
1 cup quick oatmeal - not instant
5 scoops of chocolate protein powder (105 g)
1/4 cup fat free cottage cheese
1/2 cup non fat dry milk powder
2 egg whites
4 tbsp water
2 tbsp Aguave sweetener
2 bananas, mashed
1 1/2 tsp flaxseed oil,(this is the secret to moist bars instead of the traditional dry bar)
1/4 cup raw crushed almonds (sprinkle on top of bars) prior to cooking

Preheat oven to 325 degrees. Spray a 9 X 12 casserole dish with PAM (or similar spray) and set aside.  In a medium bowl combine all dry ingredients and set aside.  In a mixing bowl beat egg whites, cottage cheese, bananas, water, aguave sweetener and oil.  Add just a tad of vanilla for flavor to the wet ingredients.  Add the dry mixture and combine until a lumpy batter forms.  Pour into pan and bake for 30 minutes or until edges are browned.
Cut into 2/3 inch squares.

Busy morning...walk, on computer answering emails and putting of work related jobs until after the prom dress drive is over. Then two interviews with newspapers about ballroom-blitz.org
After interview, run around picking up gowns, meeting Starbucks managers about the promo they are running in-store for the prom dress program, then ran home to let out the dog.
I've had one hour to sit down and answer more emails, write this blog and then I have to get out of here in 15 minutes to meet the marketing mgr from the mall who is donating space for us again this year to hold the prom gown giveaway boutiques.  We are going out for dinner...I better watch this now that the challenge has started, then we are going to move clothing racks into the location and work out some layout ideas for the boutique.

The layout is important since we will have several hundred girls come and look for dresses over the three days we run the boutique.  We need to set up individual and mass body change rooms, a jewellery and accessories area and a place where some make-up artists will be doing make-over tips for the girls while they wait to get into the boutique.

Then I will come home and go to bed.

Stay tuned for Day Two tomorrow!

IN SYNC

Just finished reading my sister in-law Ella's blog and are we ever in sync.

Here I was feeling so bad because for the past two or three weeks I haven't kept my food journal, after 14 weeks of steady recording.

At least she has been working out regularly, whereas I am neglecting my body, heart and mind. At least neglecting it in the physical dept!

I have a ton of excuses...all revolving around bad weather, no time and other nonsense.

Yesterday was a great day. The sun was shining, the weather had warmed up and I was motivated.  I put on my hiking runners, got the dogs leash and headed out for a nice walk.
We went across the fields and detoured to the neighbouring sod farms...thinking they would be a good dry place to walk a couple of kilometers.
Well I ended up with very wet feet, but thoroughly enjoyed the day.

Today was another bright sunny morning, a little crispy in temperature..but again I got the dog and headed out towards the river, going up and down the hills to get there.
It was a lot dryer today, which made my feet happy, plus I wore my heart rate monitor again.

I've also been neglecting the heart rate monitor. Which is not a good thing. I find that wearing the HRM is a huge motivator to walk faster or farther.
It keeps me on track with my food calorie count as well.

So, Ella...I am back. ARE YOU?!!!!!

I have tried two different challenge groups...one from a podcast I listen too and the other from my squash club - both are 12 week durations.
They both are lousy challenges because they don't do anything to keep in touch with you other than once a week. That's not good enough for me..I need constant feedback from the other participants or I get BORED!

I'm going to forget those challenges and create a new one..shorter than 12 weeks.

ELLA - I challenge you to a two week two pound challenge!
ARE YOU FEARLESS?
ARE YOU GAME?!!!!

Saturday, March 14

To the list of things that are unavoidable in this world, a name must be added: Death, taxes and high-fructose corn syrup.

Odds are, it's likely that you've consumed high-fructose corn syrup today. According to one study, Americans consume an average of 70 pounds of HFCS every year. That's the equivalent of eating an average-size golden retriever, composed entirely of HFCS.

The sweet syrup's proliferation is due, in large part, to government subsidies that keep the price of domestically produced corn syrup very low, and tariffs that keep the price of cane sugar artificially high.

There has been much speculation as to the link between the burgeoning omnipresence of this synthetic sweetener and the rapidly rising rates of obesity in America over the past 20 years. The reality of its responsibility is still hotly debated, but recent studies suggest that HFCS may be converted into fat more quickly and readily than is sugar.

The question is: How the heck can anyone avoid HFCS? If you scan your local supermarket shelves, you will find it in places both obvious and baffling. It's no shock to see it listed on the side of a soda can or in jelly, cookies, popsicles or even Gatorade. But pickles? Really? Salad dressing, bread, crackers, ketchup and beef jerky? It is virtually everywhere you turn.

What follows are a few suggestions for locally available, HFCS-free alternatives to the mainstream mainstays.

Soda

To be perfectly frank, soda's not good for you in the first place. Replacing HFCS with "real cane sugar" isn't going to transform Coke into soy milk. However, there are many who swear by the better taste of soda flavored with sugar. Root beer purists, in particular, have a difficult time tracking down a good HFCS-free sarsaparilla. Even some of the top-shelf and microbrewed versions such as IBC and Sprecher, in their alluring dark brown bottles, are chock-full of corn syrup.

Hansen's, Blue Sky Soda and Virgil's both make fine root beers with real sugar, but Virgil's tastes a little too much like licorice. My favorite, Berghoff, sells its delicious Chicago Draft Style Root Beer in 32-ounce bottles, and it has a nice caramel flavor that isn't too sweet.

Unless you're going to drink diet soda, your fizzy "real sugar" shopping outside of root beer will be limited. Blue Sky and Hansen's are readily available, and Jones Soda is switching over to pure cane sugar. Coke manufactured in Mexico is still made with cane sugar, as opposed to HFCS, due to the abundance of cane sugar and a lack of tariffs on the stuff south of the border.

Jelly & Applesauce

With a name like Smucker's, it's got to be full of HFCS. And it is. Although Smucker's does have a "no sugar added" and other variations on a theme, the majority of Smucker's, Welch's and generic jams and jellies are high in HFCS. Instead, try locally made preserves, often available in grocery stores, or anything labeled "no sugar added" or definitively "100% organic." Jams and jellies imported from outside the U.S., such as Favorit Swiss Preserves (which makes delicious mixed-berry preserves) almost always use cane or beet sugar as their primary sweetener.

Applesauce doesn't seem like the sort of food that would need the extra sweetness; Mott's begs to differ. Regular Mott's, which dominates the shelves at most supermarkets, contains HFCS, but you can pick up a jar of the no-sugar-added Mott's and breathe more easily. Don't feel limited by the Mott'sopoly, though. Organics available at Willy St. Co-op, Trader Joe's and other fine purveyors of apple sauce can provide you with a product that's just apples, water and apple juice. Better yet, make it yourself. It's a matter of simmering apples. Make some time for the applesauce in your life.

Hot Dogs & Bratwurst

Although frankfurters aren't the first thing that leaps to mind when you consider sweeteners, it can be difficult to find a red hot that doesn't contain corn syrup or HFCS. Your best bet in hot dogs: Hebrew National. They're all beef, delicious, and don't contain a drop of the stuff.

Brats are a trickier find, though. A delicious, if slightly pricier, alternative is Boar's Head. For a cheddar brat, try the salty snap of the Nueske's Cheddar Bratwurst.

Yogurt

You can pretty much forget about Yoplait (and Yoplait Light) if you're looking to avoid HFCS, and Dannon is out of the question as well. Unless you're willing to stick with vanilla- or coffee-flavored Dannon, your best bet is the appropriately named Sugar River Dairy yogurt, made in Albany, Wis., and available locally. It has a nice combination of sweet fruit and just-tart yogurt. Stonyfield Farms and Cascade Fresh are also available without HFCS.  Blue Bunny Light and Weight Watchers both make low-calorie, sugar-free yogurts with sucralose (the generic term for Splenda) as the primary sweetener, but what they lack in calories they don't make up for in flavor.

Bread

All-natural whole-wheat breads of most varieties in supermarkets will be free of HFCS, but there are exceptions, so it's worth reading the label.

If you're looking for white bread, abandon the prepackaged, big-brand variety. Butternut, Wonderbread, Village Hearth, Pepperidge Farm and all the heavy hitters in the bread world have HFCS in their white bread.

Go to the deli/bakery and pick up a loaf baked at the store. Most use sugar as the primary sweetener. Rudi's Organic Bakery and Kamm's Farm Bakery also provide corn-syrup-free white bread, and are readily available in the Madison area.

Cookies

Like soda, cookies are never really going to be good for us, but the classic brand names that many of us grew up with are big trouble. Avoid Fig (and other) Newtons, Chips Ahoy, Oreos and Teddy Grahams.

If you're a Chips Ahoy fan and looking for an HFCS alternative, choose Famous Amos. Newman's Own has a tasty variety of chocolate sandwich cremes to serve as an excellent substitute for Oreos.

Cereal

For cereal, you can always turn to the organic aisle and find yourself free of HFCS. Most General Mills cereals are made with sugar, but, Kellogg's has a surprising number of "adult" cereals that have HFCS, while a number of its "kid's" cereals are made with just sugar.

For instance, Kellogg's Corn Flakes, Rice Krispies, Special K, All Bran, and Raisin Bran all contain HFCS. However, Kellogg's Apple Jacks, Froot Loops, and Frosted Mini-Wheats are free of the stuff. It highlights the fact that if you're really trying to avoid HFCS, it is safe to neither dismiss nor blindly accept a product without scanning the label yourself.

Triggers

Do you get the urge to over-eat when you are mad at someone, annoyed or frustrated with yourself? If we'd eat for comfort by reaching into our crisper drawer, we'd be OK. But how many people turn to carrot sticks when they're feeling stressed? I don't know a single one; do you?

It's the high-fat, high-cal foods we love that make us feel better; the more fattening, sweeter or the saltier the food, the better we seem to feel.

The worst part about emotional eating is it actually causes your problems to multiply. Eventually, instead of avoiding the issues you're stuffing down with food, you've created another one altogether -- weight gain, guilt about eating, worsening health ... and then it starts all over again.

I recognized my emotional triggers and being a mother most of them involve my children.

As a mother you love your children unconditionally...well at least I do...but they so quickly can find a way to make you feel guilty, or speak to you as if you have no knowledge about any subject.   I have always taught my children to be independant thinkers, to be creative and not to follow the crowds just because everyone else is.  I think my kids are wonderful adults now and I take a lot of credit for the way they turned out.  But, my son can reduce me to eating chocolate or fatty foods instantly.

He and I were discussing this subject, after he read my past blog - which is now deleted - and he said "it's your responsiblity mom to get a grip on me being a trigger", or words to that effect.

Okay, I admit it....he is right!  We bicker about all types of subjects..but he come this bickering honestly, because his mother bickers with her father in-law on all subjects just to get his goat.

You know the expresson about the apple not falling far from the tree...well in this case it doesn't fall far from the tree, it lands thunk on the head!

So to everyone who has emotionally triggers..

  • Step One: Identify Your Triggers
  • Step Two: Recognize Hunger Signals
  • Step Three: Limit Trigger Foods
  • Simply stop stocking your fridge and pantry with the foods you binge on.

  • Step Four: Don't Skip Meals
  • Skipping meals almost always leads to over-eating.

  • Step Five: Create Alternatives to Eating
  • Whether it's a bubble bath or curling up with a good book, planning other activities will help you relax and avoid binges.

When you trip up -- because you will (We all do!), don't give up. Forgive yourself and start over the next day. Learning from your mistakes and focusing on the positive will go along way in ensuring your continued weight loss success.

Off the wagon in one day - new record!

Ella was working today as any great coach should and gave me a good coach talk....2009 style via email.
But Ella, it was too late by a day....had the carrot cake and some of those 'in a food group of there own' basic nutrional kettle potato chips with my wrap. I didn't order them! They just came with my wrap!
I gave half the wrap to my girlfriend, but would have broken her fingers if she tried to grab one of my potato chips!
I had been so good with the 'don't blow this over crap food' self talk for 3 mos now. But the little devil won out yesterday.

It is pouring rain here today and no way am I going for a walk. I'm just thrilled the basement didn't flood again. There are still 10 industrial blowers and two  huge industrial dehumidifiers going down there cleaning up the flood from 3 weeks ago. This was my workout area - so the newest excuse is that I have no where to exercise! Ha,

Excuses and more excuses

I think it's obvious from the past weeks blogs that I have been avoiding the topic of my own weight loss and exercise, instead just posting about ridiculous weight loss advertisements.

Maybe it's BECAUSE I did nothing.

Nada, zip, zero, or the other hundreds of other ways to say squat.

I haven't played squash more than once a week for the past few weeks - and those games were only quick 30 minutes at low intensity levels that burned 330 - 450 calories, instead of the usual 600 - 800 calorie per game.

My food journal, after 15 weeks of faithfully keeping daily track of my food intake, is blank
this entire week except for Monday.

The scale moved down 1/4 lb and then went back up 1/4 lb. It did this a few times during the week...proving to me that I should stay off that darn thing and only step on it only once a week for my weigh-in.

I could blame it on my trip south breaking my routine,
I could blame it on my foot which I broke during the summer and it's hurting the past few days,
I could blame it on the lousy weather that I've not gone out and walking for over a month,
I could blame it on the prom dress program starting up and taking up an enormous amount of my time - all of it in front of the computer screen.

But the fact is I'm starting to get bored with the whole 'only 1 lb per week' weight loss.
The scale is just not moving quick enough!

Where is all of this going?
It is a recognition of how I stagnate when I do nothing, or worse will put some of those ugly 1 lb butter block back onto my body!

So what will I do about it?

Well, right now I will take my weary body and get to bed, then tomorrow I will start all over again! Food journal, new goals, back to exercise 5 days per week.

The Beautiful Wellness BeltIn response to everyone's great desire for fitness and recent research into the effects of weight-bearing exercise, we conceptualized and now manufacture a unique product that makes achieving personal wellness very easy, convenient and effortless. Over the last two years, thousands of people have had their lives impacted with this unique and effective product. It just doesn't get any easier than this ...

The Wellness Belt is a combination product: a weighted belt and a fashionable article of clothing. You really can't feel the weight when you wear it, but when you take it off at the end of the day, you feel as if you can float up a flight of stairs!

Wearing the Wellness Belt for only 4 hours a day while you are on your feet doing typical activities makes you burn off about the same amount of calories as going to the gym three times a week and pumping iron for a half hour each time. That much increased activity can generate significant loss of weight and /or inches.

This versatile product is for both ladies and gentlemen. You will use this belt to hold up your slacks, shorts or skirt, replacing a normal leather belt. But don't be fooled - this is no ordinary belt! The more you do while you are wearing it, the more the Wellness Belt does for you. So, wear it everywhere!

This achievement represents your opportunity to get remarkable improvements in your quality of life. It is a perfect “wellness” product. This line of attractive, highest quality weighted belts has been available locally in Ontario, Canada since 2006 with thousands of transformed clients. Now we are making it more widely available through the web.

Our product enables you to wear from 6 to 14 pounds of external weight just below your waist. Wearing a weighted belt forces your leg and trunk muscles to exert more while you do your normal everyday activities such as standing, walking, shopping, working, etc. That muscle exertion accumulates, burning significant quantities of extra calories that otherwise you would not. That is why people shrink into smaller clothes so quickly. Health Canada has assigned a Class 1 Medical Device License to this product for the very common physiological conditions mentioned above.

Unlike dietary weight loss methods that result in loss of pounds through loss of fat AND MUSCLE which lessens physical fitness, the Wellness Belt helps cause loss of fat by toning your muscles and improving physical fitness. So we are encouraging loss of inches rather than pounds as a healthier goal. Perhaps we should start an "Inches Loss" industry!

People will only wear an item like this if it is attractive as well as functional. That's exactly what you get in a Wellness Belt ... a Fashion Statement!

To busy to get to a gym? Not fond of working out? Gym fees too expensive?

This is your solution.

The Wellness Belt causes you to work out continuously while you are on your feet doing normal everyday activities. You never work up a sweat. In fact, you won't even notice that you're doing anything different. It's effortless!

a FASHION Statement

But you don't need to sweat to get results. Instead of short bursts of heavy activity like a gym work out, you will perform gentle, non-noticeable sustained weight bearing exercise regimen that accumulates far more calorie-burning and muscle usage than many faithful gym members. People with a little flab to burn often lose 1 to 3 inches in the first week! We've even seen a couple of individuals lose 4" in the first week! And the Wellness Belt continues to work to keep it off.

With the wider availability our product, “wellness” has now become an easy lifestyle choice for you. Experience improved leg and trunk muscle tone, strength and endurance as well as improved stability. You should experience more energy, as well as less tension, stress and fatigue. Ironically this product causes thin people to gain muscle mass and weight from the extra exercise it makes them perform. So overweight individuals can lose inches and underweight individuals can gain weight from the same product!

The posture correction makes you stand properly - without slouching - and it provides relief from chronic low back pain for most people within minutes of putting it on.

Dr. CraigHere is a message from Dr. Craig Curphey, one of the Wellness belt inventors.

Dear Friend ... I have worked very hard over the past several years to bring this concept to reality, and I want you to know that we have researched and tested many prototypes to bring you a beautiful, comfortable and effective product.

The feedback I have gotten from my patients and the general public has been beyond what I ever thought would be possible with something as simple as this. The relief of back pain, the huge weight loss stories, the stronger bones, removal of menstrual cramping, people discarding their walkers and canes, and more, as you can tell from our testimonials. And we've heard from many, many others whose stories aren't in digital form for our site. So, just in case you're hesitating, let me help you evaluate your options ...

Option #1 You could choose to do nothing. Some people just like things the way they are. If you're completely satisfied with the way your health and fitness is at present, then this option probably makes sense. But Let's face it ... you probably wouldn't have read this far if you weren't motivated to make effective, positive changes in this area of your life without having to invest a lot of time working out, would you? Let's take a look at your other options.

Option #2 You could invest a lot more money than the cost of your Wellness Belt (plus the time necessary to get the required exercise) into fitness equipment or a club membership. But you may end up like most people and only keep it up for a short while. Then you'll be out the money and the time ... and when you stop, you'll be right back where you started.

Option #3 You can keep researching - looking for some other way to get fit that somehow is more convenient and effective and less of an investment. I already know that doesn't exist, but if it did, would there be a 90 day satisfaction guarantee? Lots of people never make a decision, because they are always looking for "more info". Opportunities pass them by and they never make the changes they need to become healthier. Don't let that happen to you.

Option #4 You can become another happy Wellness Belt customer and begin to enjoy its long list of major health and fitness benefits as quickly as we can get it into your hands!

Which option makes the most sense to you? I thought so! I love it when people come to understand this amazingly simple product and choose to allow it help them.

P.S. Don't let this discounted offer pass you by. Only about 10% of the population is getting enough weight-bearing exercise to improve and sustain their health and fitness. Just look at the North American population around you - people are not looking very healthy these days. It doesn't have to be that way for you! Go ahead and buy one now. I guarantee you'll be glad that you did!
